Sure does fly! We only dated for 5 years before marriage. Good to test those waters for a while before tying the knot. You had a long test run!

Yeah! I know many couples that married (and subsequently divorced) in that period before we got married. I think a lot of times it can work if you find the right person of course!

But I do think there's something to be said about knowing your partner over a long period of time before signing those marriage papers!

Now that you mention it, I come across plenty of couples who married after 5 months or even less... Maybe it's the work I do (immigration law, so they marry quickly to be sure they can stay here together). So I guess 5 years was pretty long! 

By now we're pros at the whole relationship thing... Smh jk. Not sure if anyone ever masters marriage, but some do manage to make it work 😎

5y is actually a long time! We certainly did have a long run before marriage. I guess we are a fairly "modern" couple, and didn't see a lot of benefit to tying the knot at first. We lived together for ages as well, before marriage.

As you said, really did test those waters beforehand! 😹
