I believe it’s possible to make a DAO work, but most people’s intuition on how is completely wrong IMHO. Most want to have a shared treasury + voting. This isn’t bad in itself, but if it’s the only thing you got it’s doomed to the same top-down failure you see in tradOrgs. The next-generation organization is bottom-up, not top-down. Any shared treasury + voting should be focused on cellular replication (ie creating a new shared treasury+voting), even at the expense of its own “life”. Red flags: - Standard response to problems is to create a committee. Initiate comes from individuals and so responsibility and authority should lie with individuals. - People voting on things they have no knowledge about. This is worse than the responsibility diffusion above, it is diffusion of authority to the place of least knowledge. - More complainers than doers. Bottom-up initiative is in the DNA of nextGen orgs, too many complainers is essentially a cancer on the host body.
