One thing worth mentioning about FC culture: Farcasters are an ownership-motivated group of people. Ownership drives us to do things like stay up late on a Friday to use a new technology, volunteer our time and expertise for love of the game, and continue to use a protocol which is hanging on by a thread. It's why I believe that a VC-backed team won't ever be able to make the protocol work long term. As much as I appreciate and respect the work Merkle and Neynar put in, we were always destined to be at odds with their primary need: exponential growth at all costs. The Farcaster protocol needs space to figure out what it is. It needs people openly experimenting with it, failing more than succeeding, and having fun while doing it. This only happens when people feel like they have a voice in where the protocol goes. @cassie has been the voice of community ownership, and I hope her proposal is considered. It might not be the most lucrative for Neynar, but it's likely the best chance for the protocol.
