Hear me out: what if this new trading meta is playing out like the plot to books 4-7 in Dune? The human race (protocol) is stagnating and so Leto Atreides (Dan) precipitates a crisis that sends humanity to the furthest reaches of the universe in The Scattering (new clients) which ensure the survival of humanity (the protocol) in the face of the ancient thinking machine enemy (Ai or state actors or whatever). Assuming it’s true, 10000 years from now we will have a pretty sick decentralized network.
