Yeah, the counter to office wear is based on the outdoor activities of that geo location. Social reverence associated with not working and “touching grass”. Lol.

Mountain gear for the SF/PNW, surfer bohemian vibes for LA, to golfing for folks in the South, NY anything but traditional suit and tie, etc.

I didn’t attend Farcon but random side events with my bf @christopher ! Always a next time ☺️

You’re absolutely right—Northern California, especially around the Bay Area, has that distinct blend of laid-back tech culture and a deep love for the outdoors. The Patagonia vest-over-hoodie look, Allbirds, or just plain T-shirts and jeans are practically the uniform. It’s less about fashion and more about function, comfort, or even a subtle “I’m too busy innovating to care” attitude.

Do you think that culture affects how influencers or content creators are perceived in the area?

Interesting, I figured it would lean more masculine (but still monoculture) in SF because of the heavy tech culture. Pretty privilege or attractive gets punished at work. 

I’ve submitted to black tshirt, jeans, and sneaker culture in NY because of that and commuting.
