This morning when I got to work, as soon as I sat down at my desk, still half-asleep, I took my phone out of my pocket and started scrolling through social media. The first post I saw had 6,999 likes. When I liked it, it became 7,000. That neat number sparked something in my mind. The number 7, lucky... maybe something good will happen to me today?! It didn’t take more than two or three seconds before I gave myself a (figurative) slap on the wrist for thinking such superstitions and nonsense. But those two or three seconds of joy and small hope were proof that life is more bearable when you believe in superstitions.
