building L2s makes more sense than L1 and have a unprecedented edge over L1 for couple of reasons - L1 require token from day one, L2s lets you bootstrap security and decentralization without the need of a token - with L1s you pay massive chunks of money to validators (billions a year with ethereum), L2s pay for blobspace that is way cheaper (more viable to run consumer applications) - and the tough part which most of the vc chains got wrong is growing an ecosystem (vampire attacks to get users is a proven dying strategy), SUI, SEI, BLAST - / no mans land - the network effect and total amount of capital available on ethereum, it's a no brainer on why to build an L2 on ethereum. there is going to be a million x demand for blobspace from where we are today. appchain thesis is pro L2s. Massive respect to base and optimism team.
