My oldest has been attending Alpha School for 1-month now. I finally see the kid who loved learning, is learning, and wants to keep going back to school to learn.
It’s everything I expected to be, and more.
I was shocked how much she changed in 1-week, for the better.
Their focus is on life skills.
My daughter carries herself in public and engages with others more easily, her anxiety is down, and she expresses her more coherently.
She was already ahead of her grades in academics but she had lost her edge in eagerness and curiosity to learn. Which I think she has reclaimed a bit.
Every school we attempted did more for her socially than anything else. Regressed her intellectually and her appetite to be curious, and her anxiety would increase. Our suspicion is on the environment in which a lot of schools have today.
This is why we always ended up having a gap year of homeschooling between our attempts at a school. Practically, unwinding the bad stuff.
Glad we pulled the trigger on Alpha and now to keep it going.
10/10 recommend. Happy to answer questions too.
