In my speculative opinion, this is why Dan and V were very smart to stop chasing “sufficiently decentralzied” as a means to an end. Once Elon took over Twitter, I could sense the shift in urgency of that message and began to compete on experience but you cant beat something at scale if it’s innovating at the same clip as a startup. I applaud them for likely being able to see this and understand the fight for sufficiently decentralized networks (couple to crypto rails) stop being the play. If this was the case, this tweet by Elon puts a nail in the coffin for people making excuses on why more competitive networks are popping up. Also makes it easier for niche communities ie channels, to spring up. especially with AI assisted development.
