one of my favorite lines in the series Handsmaid Tails is when June reads something carved into the closet wall that says "Don't let the bastards grind you down".
This applies to practically all of life.
I also realize that many of us, unknowingly, have been grinded down by the "bastards". Choosing to be a constant skeptic or pessimist is how you let the bastards grind you down.
