My opinion is that the extreme rise in budget overages is because ai is not fully optimized for the engineering stack, yet.
Yes it can write amazing code.
But engineering is a system thing and the 80/20 rule is still in favor of the expert thinker that gets ai to do very specific things to resolve an immediate thing vs getting it to continuously develop and maintain a system.
Systems will stay a human domain, just at a different architecture layer.
