I've had a customer support call not long ago.
I was polite, as I usually am, and noticed that this person was a bit stressed.
After they clarified to me that they don't do XYZ technical support, I asked for an alternative. They decided to repeat the same thing they said, with an annoyed attitude.
I responded calmly, saying that I would sort it out myself. The person didn't hang up, and proceeded to insult me.
Naturally, I responded but instantly let go of it, as I thought that they might be going through a lot. Customer support is a difficult demanding job. However, that doesn't stop me from filing a complaint, as another person might go through the same experience. This doesn't put the company I was dealing with in a good position.
It was disappointing to have this treatment, which shows total disrespect.
