Farcaster feedback around improving the feed, UX and more.
TLDR:
The core feedback focuses on shifting Farcaster toward a curated, personalized, and value-driven experience. This includes deep content filtering in the Home Feed (topic-based sorting, contributor rankings), active content curation to remove repetitive shilling, user-defined "VIP" lists for guaranteed visibility, and new features to drive ecosystem growth through dedicated clients and onchain verification of contributions. Another painpoint I'll cover regarding developing Farcaster clients will be discussed on another cast next week.
The following is a raw representation of my thoughts.
If you want a neater, concise AI summary, check the reply on this cast below:
1. how do you use it vs your following feed?
I only use the home feed. Following feed is mostly ignored.
I would like to filter by topic.
See a ranked list of top contributors on a give topic and/or channel (i.e. a top contributor would have a combination of likes, recasts, replies, etc.)
2. what's getting surfaced that you don't want to see?
Shilling mini-apps. Once I've seen it once, if I haven't interacted, I don't want to see it again.
3. what/who are you not seeing that you want more of?
I do see the people I want to see, but I noticed this happens based on my recent interactions with them.
A list of "VIP section" or "Interesting" people, that I can consciously customise, would improve the experience drastically. Potentially, add a feature that checks with the user every 30-60 days if they still want to keep them in the VIP section, to receive an accurate feed.
4. what would make you use it more?
Relevant topics, more dedicated FC clients (ideally promoting usage and/or incentives for development) and an active community.
Onchain proof. Currently there is no onchain way of verifying your contributions on Farcaster.
