I wonder if the play is to build agents which perform all these things automatically, and then upsell customers on agents for flights, hotels, tax filing.

The latest Stratecherry piece gave me related food for thought: AI chatbots get information online, but do not pay for it. 
If humans are going to spend more of their internet time and attention on chatbots, then the economic model behind the websites which provide this information collapses. 

Chatbots will need to deliver value to those who create original information online. Synthetic information is all well and good, but something is going to be responsible for publishing new information online, and new information is created every day, and that person or agent has costs and thus must be paid. 

I expect publishers will name their price for their information and IP to be used for a given chatbot response, and a marketplace will need to exist to facilitate that. This will be funded by ads inserted into responses and/user subscriptions.

Each of these chatbots is doing a similar thing already: collecting and synthesising a range of information

The advantage of doing this across multiple chatbots themselves, is you can distance yourself for failures or biases that might afflict any single model — but how do they decide what is best? You’d have to do more than ask chatgpt; did they make their own model?
