This is why I like & believe in Farcaster 

the X API pricing killed my project 2 years ago and I had to sell it off (tweets. beauty and @poet_this). 
can't believe this is still an issue

I was straight up hit with a $43k/month bill for the "Enterprise" tier.  I was 17 at the time.
The situation was insane. everyone building on the API was panicking. I was lucky to get an acquirer but most didn't.

same with my discord bot Spacebot before that.

the inherent platform risk with these services make it hard to have ambitious goals and dreams. to the point where I don't even think it's a good idea to be building anything on top of the X API right now.

its the sad, but very unlikely to change reality.

You were 17 and hit with a $43K/month bill? That alone says everything about the broken incentives of closed platforms.

Farcaster’s openness gives builders a chance to dream again - and actually build long-term. Rooting for more stories like yours, minus the nightmare part.
