Back in early 1900s Argentina, kids in public school had to start wearing white smocks. Teachers were complaining that you could spot class differences just by looking at what students wore.

Are uniforms an effective way to obscure class differences?

I'm thinking one step ahead: I believe all public school students should wear uniforms. It could help reduce fashion overconsumption; a growing issue where young people buy fast fashion only to discard it just as quickly. Much of it ends up in landfills, fueling the waste crisis. Uniforms could be a simple, impactful step toward more sustainable habits early on.
