Why Warplet matters 1. Most people don’t have a crypto wallet. 2. On Farcaster, without a wallet, you’re missing a key feature—earning money just by engaging. 3. But if everyone who signs up gets a wallet, money can flow seamlessly through rewards, tips, or airdrops. 4. This means more people with balances, which benefits developers building onchain frames. 5. And when someone taps a frame, they can act onchain instantly.

Why did my follower account decrease? 1. Yesterday, we changed how Warpcast counts followers by excluding users our algorithm flags as spammy. 2. Twitter (at least historically) and Instagram both do this. 3. We've had an uptick in spam recently, so as part of improving our spam models we decided to make this change. 4. View this less as losing followers and more us giving you a more accurate (but not perfectly accurate!) view of your audience. 5. There are additional improvements we can make here and we will likely do that over the coming weeks and months. 6. Important: this change only affects Warpcast’s display—it doesn’t alter protocol data; those accounts still follow you. And if you follow a spammy account, i.e. you don't find it spammy, you'll see their casts. 7. Third-party apps can access Warpcast’s open-source spam labels. 8. Recovery Phrase Export You can now export your recovery phrase for your Warpcast Wallet and Farcaster Wallet from Settings -> Advanced Warning: don't use this if you dont know how recovery phrases work. you could lose your farcaster account and all your onchain assets.

WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH CHANNELS? 1. Channels aren’t going anywhere anytime soon 2. Our priority is growth; we’re working on a) improving onchain UX with frames + wallet (network differentiation) b) invites + rewards (increase daily actives users) c) protocol improvements to support new clients bringing their own users (increase daily actives users) d) creator onboarding (increase daily active users) 3. Channels, historically, have not driven growth; channels, however, have helped deepen engagement and retention for existing power users. 4. Given limited resources (i.e. focus), we don’t have near term plans to add features to channels. 5. However, nearly all aspects of channels are programmable via a) the protocol b) Warpcast open / free APIs. If there is demand, we may also prioritize making channel registration available API. Note: moving all channels metadata to the protocol is a lot of work that wouldn’t drive near-term growth. 1/2

Introducing Trending Topics Algorithmic collections of casts about topics people are talking about. They update a few times per day. Mobile only to start. Update to the latest version of Warpcast from the your app store and restart your app 1-2x. Topics will appear on the search tab and in your feed while you're scrolling. We’re running this as an experiment in Warpcast for the next couple months. --- > Are these channels? Trending topics **are not** channels. They are collections casts about a popular topic identified by an AI-powered algorithm. Channels have no bearing on trending topics. > Are the topics on the protocol? The casts themselves are on the protocol but the categorization and feeds are generated by Warpcast. There are developer tools like @mbd that can provide this for your app.

Coming soon We will be working with developers / projects that want to give users airdrops. We’ll indicate what the developer is hoping to accomplish with the airdrop. Users that 1) opt in 2) do the desired action—use a frame, engage in a channel, etc.—will start to develop reputation as a good user to offer future airdrops to. Users that opt in, receive airdrops and don’t do the desired action will develop a reputation as a user to avoid offering airdrops. Ultimately, developers get to decide who to target (the data is permissionless). But I suspect airdrops on Farcaster will start to reward usage / go forward alignment. First airdrop next week!
