What a week with @nftnyc-official & /permissionless NFTNYC took place @ the Marriott Marquis in Times Square; fantastic choice for visitors. The central location makes it easy to enjoy the city & stay connected to everything NYC has to offer. Permissionless, on the other hand, was held all the way down in Industry City, Sunset Park, Brooklyn. In my opinion a major faux pas. It’s a long drive, parking is a hassle, & public transit or uber are both time-consuming & inconvenient; even on a normal day, now imagine all that during a 100 degree Tuesday. I doubt even locals from Brooklyn found it convenient. & for out-of-towners? It’s a tough sell compared to the Marriott in Times Square. The after-parties in the city were, as always, a great opportunity to connect and meet new people. I had a great time at @pizzadao after in @station3nyc across from the charging bull! Had a great time meeting new faces & onboarding new members: @pilarcote @yonks @jimicohen @andyhyfi.eth @ledropwithcheese @erichiez

I believe it’s worth having a serious conversation about aligning one of these conferences with @farcon as an annual event at the Javits Center. I’ve seen firsthand how impactful it is when complementary conferences take place under the same roof & on the same dates at Javits Center; people from around the world can easily move between conferences, simply by walking down the hall. This year in May some people came for /farcon-nyc, others came in early June for NY Tech Week, and then others came end of June for NFTNYC, and/or Permissionless. It was nearly impossible to attend NFTNYC & permissionless because how far apart they were. Now imagine if 2 or 3, best all 4 of these were held together at the Javits Center. It would be a win-win for all organizers, especially for out-of-town visitors who could attend multiple events in one location, saving time, energy, & logistics. There needs not be association between the conferences except using the same location and dates to maximize out of town attendance
