Just read through Stand.earth’s 2025 Fossil Free Fashion Scorecard and the results say a lot about where the industry really stands on climate action. Even the top performer, H&M Group, only scored a B+, showing how far the sector still has to go. A few brands like EILEEN FISHER, Kering, and H&M are making real progress on cutting emissions and supporting supplier decarbonization. Others, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Aritzia, Columbia Sportswear, and SHEIN are seriously lagging, with little to no Scope 3 targets and rising emissions. Despite 66% of brands saying they care about emissions, less than a third are actually taking meaningful action. Targets alone won’t solve this; funding the energy transition in supply chains will.
