We're here at moni.ai working on social analytics tooling. So once my question to the team "what about their opinion to utilize Farcaster data"?

So their answer I believe will be unpopular opinion here. But let's check what they said.

/ Farc DAU is around 40k users according to https://dune.com/pixelhack/farcaster while twitter DAU is around 200-250 mil depending on data source

/ No real market signals here. Most of discover.getmoni.ai paid clients use it to track early stage projects or follow Smart Followers activity to make active investment decisions. It's almost impossible to match some real activity on Farc with some on-chain moves.

/ Maybe it's not true for Farc ecosystem memes, but c'mon who trades farc memes on daily basis & what are the volumes there? No mass-market, no notable influencers beyond Farc info buble, no sentiment on the whole market.

/ From one side of the coin Farc looks like dev-to-dev sandbox with all those mini-apps, frames & other tech stuff. Maybe it's not bad, but it's too niche.

/ From other side of the coin, And I believe it's 100% legit take, it's just dozens of fake bot activity for grinding airdrop. And even 99% of those who are not fake also just grinding airdrop... and what they gonna do after dumping it on the open market?

/ I mean, I wish guys were wrong, but there is almost nothing to object to a Tons of people are spamming casts, likes, follows, etc., just to farm potential airdrops (like $DEGEN or $MOXIE - love U both guys, btw).

/ So from social data analytics this looks like: Engagement is inflated --> Hard to tell what’s genuine and what’s farmed -> Data becomes unreliable

/ From the tech side I cannot say much. As far as I know it's also not so easy. You need to set & sync your Farc Hub or use custom API (correct me if I'm wrong). But I don't think this is a problem here comparing to Musk shitty API we have to pay for 5 signs.

/ Farcaster might make sense if: - You’re building a social or Web3-native product - You care about identity integration and customizable profiles - Your goal is to be early to a trend, even if the current audience is still small

/ But for us when your aim is to make data more actionable for your clients it's too early... hope we'll be here before it's too late. Cuz personally me I see Farc potential beyond just airdrop. It's in the open environment & friendly vibe around the network. Wish Farc all the best!
