The Ghibli trend took off the day that OpenAI released their new image model and was followed by Italian brainrot which really opened my eyes to this new paradigm

Enabling anyone to participate in and remix a meme unlocks a whole new level of memetic potency and longevity via collective creativity rather than relying on one or a few creators

NFTs were remixable software/media.

It wasn't as easy to produce with AI prompting today, but NFTs were consumable software.

The 10k pfp format was highly memetic.

Exactly. 

During the NFT boom, I wrote blogs on consumable NFTs and app NFTs.

That line of thinking was pre-AI boom (2021). 

With AI, the ideas converge into one where apps are consumed like cups of coffee.

NFTs as consumable software, I think of onchain experiments like ok computer terminals and webpages, chainleft work like Blood Journey and Chaos Roads.
