The Philippine stocks didn't have much growth.
For context, the PSEI (Top 30 company index) is currently at ~6300 pesos, which peaked at ~8000 10 years ago.
I haven't been investing much in the PH stock market now due to the lack of growth, politics barring more investment from abroad.
I started studying and investing seriously when I was 14 I think which was roughly 10 years ago, glad to say that my port is now ~5-6x of what it was -- without adding much capital.
I'd still recommend local stock markets as a playground, but if you can go for NYSE, NASDAQ or the bigger markets out there, go for it.
