if you like Rothko, this is a great book to start with. 

Written by Rothko’s son Christopher, it gives an idea about how to look at the artworks, debates on the fundamental beliefs of the artist, and reveals intimate personal stories

I was most intrigued by the last one. This is the best recommendation in the last year! I've read a lot of books, but now there's a vacuum because I can't find anything really worthwhile.
