The crane operator had accidentally broken the primary antenna Crew members were already complaining. Work was lagging. But instead of panicking, I did what had to be done: >Increased VSAT bandwidth >Balanced the pressure >Kept quiet about the antenna

See, on a vessel, the internet isn’t just for work. It’s how the entire crew speaks to their families. Even the ones who don’t “need” it for work depend on it to stay sane. I didn’t tell them what broke,I just fixed what mattered

A week later, I got a replacement antenna. Did another survey. Reinstalled it in a better spot. We were back to stable dual links. The captain? He gave me a pack of juice 😂 Some days, you’re the NOC engineer. Some days, you’re the silent savior.
