Scaling blockchain to handle more transactions efficiently is key. Two top solutions: Layer 2 protocols like Lightning Network & state channels, which offload transactions from the main chain, and sharding, dividing the network to parallelize processing. Each has tradeoffs - Layer 2 can be complex and needs widespread adoption, while sharding faces challenges in maintaining security and decentralization. Which will emerge as the dominant solution?
