> what type of system would best suit the network state vibe? for me, first and foremost it must be performant so that it is far beyond the average listener’s experience of reproduced music. it should look contemporary but not over the top in a loud way. timeless but not vintage. with unlimited budget I might build something like this with FM Acoustics equipment from switzerland. make it a spiritual experience, like you’re going to a church of sound. carpet for sure.

quality is a must. so much sound is hidden by cheap speakers. i also like minimalism and hiding stuff, but on the other hand some stuff is just cool to see. we have acoustically transparent projector screens now, so thats cool. would probably add one of those and stack some subs and horns MORE POWEEERRR

agreed, there is a time and a place for minimalism. reference systems are certainly not that place: bring on the boxes, cables, stands, and everything else. a bit of chaos is fine if the output is beautiful.
