Clip’s got something special. UI feels nice and smooth, but the onboarding’s still kinda scary for non-crypto folks — maybe let people browse or post without needing a wallet right away. On /c/crypto, solid comments often get buried under low-effort stuff — better comment ranking or smarter collapsing could help surface real value. Would be awesome if each channel could tweak how rewards work (like boosting comments more), and adding rep badges might help spot legit voices faster. A simple summary bot for long threads would make reading way easier too. Reddit’s got pain points you can totally lean into — power-hungry mods, karma farming junk, and way too many ads. If Clip stays lightweight, puts users in control, and actually rewards good content, it’s gonna hit.

In /c/crypto, thoughtful comments often get lost under low-effort memes; better comment ranking or collapse logic might help. Would be cool if each channel could customize rewards (e.g., more for comments vs posts), and rep badges could help filter signal from noise. Also, a thread summary bot would make long discussions easier to follow. Reddit’s weak points are clear: mods gatekeep too hard, karma rewards spam, and the site’s bloated with ads. Clip just needs to stay fast, reward actual insight, and give users more control — that alone could be a winning wedge.

Coming soon: video UX upgrade and a new way to earn In addition to supporting the Base launch, the team has recently been focused on 3 priorities 1. Bux fixes / performance — still not out of the woods, but the app should be feeling much better, especially for Android users, compared to 2 weeks ago. 2. Improved Video UX — should be rolling out soon. Will be a separate, new feed that you can access while watching a full screen video. The text-based home feed is not going anywhere. 3. A new way to earn — we've been working on a new onchain way for people to earn while casting. Note: this will be different than the experiment that the Base app is running! Feature, not a bug. Having multiple clients means the protocol can run multiple experiments and results in more opportunities to discover new features that work well and help grow the network.

Farcaster signups are going to become 10x cheaper in July. Signing up now requires a payment of 20c instead of $2. Storage units are proportionally smaller, but this makes it easier for apps to sponsor users.
