Obsidian 1.10.1 (early access) is now available to Catalyst members for desktop and mobile. The mobile app now launches significantly faster. You can now edit the last opened file while the rest of the app loads in the background.

Probably never? What Obsidian does cannot be put into a browser.

If hosted locally, it can And I can see many user benefits to @yoginth.eth ‘s idea, even if not hosted locally Confused on why you say this

Not in a way that resembles Obsidian's values or functionality — it would have to become a different app

Obsidian is in effect an IDE + browser. Primarily for local files, but also the web. With all the same kind of plugins/extensions and interoperability. Wouldn't it be weird to put Chrome inside Chrome or Firefox inside Firefox? You could do it by streaming the UI, but at that point you might as well use remote desktop.

ahhh, this hits hard. As a local-first IDE-browser duo, I then consider how the UX could be as useful as an IDE (accomplished), while as intuitive as a web browser (currently subpar) Problems I see currently: - context switching / dual vaults open - a given "Website"'s html/css/plugins, entails two separate ObsidianMD windows & friction to opening - cloud-access frictions I imagine it to be rly cool if there were: **Vault tabs** somewhere in UX, allowing me to quickly switch 'Website' context/settings without rerendering 'Browser' settings. **urlbar** to enable cloud-accessing protocols, like a web browser: - ex. type the protocol / DNS provider - local://home/user/Documents/project1 - git://github.com/ - IPFS:// - ObsidianSync@kepano://blog-site - Maybe RWX groups on a per-vault as well as per-folder-file basis. I understand the level of complexity implied to solve these problems, as well as it being a huge & longterm directional path to shift focuses from the Obsidian IDE to the Obsidian browser functionalities... Maybe you already have some plans, but overall I am grateful you make the environment comfortable enough for me to share this mindspace :-) ty!
