The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are Kevin Durant's preferred trade destinations if he is to leave the Phoenix per Shams Carania. Those across the NBA have been made aware in recent days that those are the three teams that Durant would commit to long-term.

None of those teams becomes an immediate contender by making the trade. They'd have to give up too much and I just don't think KD is that guy anymore.

Not even Rockets? I feel they’ve got the team, just need that star to take them next level. Except of course, they trade a vital piece of that ‘team’ for KD.

I doubt Phoenix is going to just capitulate and take a deal centered around picks. They wouldn't waste Book's prime like that. So they're going to want talent. And because there's likely to be a bidding war driven by Miami, Houston will have to give up more than it would like to get him. That'll put them in a tough spot, which is why I think they'll pass and go all in for Giannis. Miami is the most likely destination of the 3 in my mind.

I took a lot less than I thought it would, especially considering the Bane deal. I thought for sure Thompson would need to be included in the deal, plus another first rounder.
