"Martin Zeichnete was a German electronic composer who created music for East German Olympic athletes in the 1970s. His work, known as Kosmischer Läufer (Cosmic Runner), was a unique blend of krautrock and motorik beats, inspired by the likes of Kraftwerk, Neu!, and Cluster.

Zeichnete, a keen runner himself, drew inspiration from West German krautrock music, which he would secretly listen to at night on the radio. He envisioned using the repetitive, hypnotic rhythms of this music to aid athletes in their training. The East German Olympic Committee took notice of his idea and commissioned him to create workout soundtracks for their teams."
