Orbiter has everything you’ve probably asked for from a hosting platform in the past: ✅ Open source ✅ Blockchain-native ✅ IPFS decentralization ✅ ENS support ✅ Blazing fast ✅ Ridiculously easy So if you have a web app or website and you’re not using Orbiter, respond to this and let me know why. I’d love to better understand it and maybe talk about how you *could* use Orbiter instead. https://orbiter.host

Whenever you guys start giving an option to deploy the static page on arweave, I am gonna use this for sure! Also you should checkout arlink.ar.io and ar.io cc: @kempsterrrr @bigtone.eth @jonniesparkles

Good note! I assume this is just for the sake of permanence right? Any idea how much each deployment costs? We’d have to figure out how to bake that in and I imagine it’ll mean a higher price than what we have now…

Not only permanence but accessibility to. Pinata is doing great work but I don’t think there are much providers to resolve ipfs hash. And most of the hashesh I feel are dependent on Pinata which bring centralised issue to some extent. Now onto the cost, I don’t have the latest numbers but for static webpage it will be really cheap one time cost in exchange of getting accessibility and permanence.

But it's not one time, right? I guess if you only deploy your site once it is, but most people make frequent updates. Does that add up? I'm admittedly very out of date on Arweave costs, so I'll also do some digging.

yes! Every update will create a new hash and you need to redirect to it either manually or use ARNS for best UX.

Important note. You can configure deployments to only redeploy changed files and then redeploy the sites route manifest file which handles resolution of all files for the site. This makes ongoing deployments of permaweb sites be very cheap and you still get permanence plus unlimited available and decentralised access across the > 400 gateways in the network. Lastly, we’ve just release ar://wayfinder protocol that means you can just pass a TXid for images etc and they’ll be routed around active gateways in the network so no more hard coding URLs for decentralised assets + it can verify the files too. @polluterofminds I’m working to n an example repo here for deploying fully decentralised manifold collections here https://github.com/kempsterrrr/arns-manifold-gallery https://x.com/kempsterrrr/status/1922798358453944546?s=46
