reflections from my 3rd (?) stint in Bogota + food scene is creeping up (watch out Lima 👀) — prices are cheaper, service is arguably better and the variety is 👌🏼 + everyone is like, super fit. walk around parque lleras once & you’ll have signed up for a gym by the end lol

(cont.) + petty crime is still hella annoying and getting sneakier — this trip, we fell for the baby powder scam 🥲 (dm if you want the full story) + traffic is hands down, the worst in LATAM (even more Lima & CDMX on fri afternoons)

Appreciate the info! Definitely need that baby powder scam info Was planning on going to Colombia this year at some point but hesitating recently 1 - do you still think it's worth it to live there for a month or two? 2 - is Bogota your favorite city there? Or somewhere else? 3 - do you feel safe overall

i meant to say *milk powder (not baby powder my bad! -- but still, milk ↔️ babies 🤷) 1. depends what you're searching for colombia is still cheap + a great place to 'geoarbitrage' if that's your thing. and there's an abundance of culture (+ coffee!) 2. i personally like bogota (cont. below)

...because it's a 'bigger city', the food scene is better imo, and more of a startup/hustle energy. medellin was too saturated and i felt a little trapped if i didn't do weekend trips

3. another 'it depends'. i've been traveling solo across LATAM for so long i feel like i know (a) how to stay 'safe', i.e. what to look out for, what not to do, where not to go and (b) my risk tolerance meter might be seriously uncalibrated from most 😂 so in short, yes I don't fear for my safety 90% of the time

I appreciate the insight and experience. I love hearing that the food scene is better. Half of the reason I travel is for the food 😂 Was the food scene diverse? Were there options from other continents, or was it mainly south american
