Summertime has come and that means I am once again seeking recs for novels about people on vacation or in some warm place but with darkness underneath (which is maybe unnecessary to say, because without the darkness, it would just be reading about people on vacation… and where’s the story in that!) My recs in this category: - The Guest by Emma Cline (a favorite from 2023) - Happy Hour by Marlowe Granados (read last summer but I think I might need to read it every summer) - Set This House on Fire by William Styron (just finished this one, so gorgeous)
