Merab has officially made bantamweight unwatchable and I think it hurts him. No one will pay to see a card he headlines because its not entertaining and at the end of the day we watch sports to be entertained. Hes destined for co-mains until he loses i think. Best in the world by far, but that doesnt get you paid or grow the sport and the UFC wants to grow and make money, which merab cannot really help with. This style will kill the UFC.

He wont lose and the UFC is now dead. Its literally not even fun at all to watch and Im a huge wresting fan. They need a major shakeup, like weight classes at every 10lbs and ban cutting then itll spread out and we can watch more interesting matchups. Dagestan you win -- we get it.

Yeah the wrestle-heavy style wins, we get it, but its not fun to see someone shoot 40 takedowns and only land 50% but you already know the outcome of the fight. If there is no chance of a different outcome, no one wants to watch. Just like college football no one wants to watch the powerhouses play cupcakes at the start of the season. Sports need drama and surprise to be entertaining. The UFC has lost that.

It's just the style and the fact there is no real challenger and they have to manufacture interest which isnt a good sign. No one cares to see petr get ragdolled by merab, that fight could never carry a card. Honestly the best thing for merabs wallet would be to get KO'd one punch by some young gun because it would make people care about the rematch. Pereira would also have been a boring watch by now if he didn't lose to izzy and magomed, and his pockets are probably happy he did (tho not his coaches, ego or brain obviously, but monetarily, it kept the fans interested for much longer)
