Class 2: Basic stats. Students struggled to understand the abstract-ness of correlation. Once you put the numbers in words, the brain wants to order it meaningfully in a way that implies causation. I’m hopeful that these students will never only look at averages and always asks for variance (or standard deviation) to decide how accurate/useful the average is for decision making.
