I've watched people become less interesting the moment everyone started agreeing with them.
The compliments keep coming.
The mistakes get renamed as quirks. The bad ideas become "bold." Every decision somehow proves their brilliance.
That's the danger of adulation.
Criticism can bruise your ego.
Too much praise can quietly remove the mirror.
