@nounishprof Some words become famous because people use them "wrong." Then enough people use them that the wrong version starts acquiring a history of its own. Supposably is a strange little example. You hear it, recognize what the speaker means, and move on. But language has never really cared about our attempts to keep it tidy. Every generation bends words a little. Sometimes the dictionary eventually catches up. Sometimes the joke becomes part of the language.
