I've become suspicious of sentences that begin with, "I don't even want to get into..."
Because they almost always do.
"I won't mention the missed deadline."
"I'm not saying they're dishonest."
"I'm not going to bring up what happened last year."
The point arrives wearing the costume of restraint.
I only recently learned there's a word for that: preterition.
Language has an uncanny way of pretending to whisper while making sure everyone hears the message.
