In 2023, Chelsea triggered Oliseās release clause. Palace considered legal action because the clause was very detailed, and part of the conditions required Olise to notify Palace about the activation himself. I'm uncertain if the situation is similar for Morgan Gibbs White now. Regardless of whether it involved a complicated release clause with many hidden conditions, Tottenham approached the club directly rather than going through the player. Since Manchester City was never informed about a release clause, the situation is different. /chelseafc probably chose not to proceed, likely because the legal process was too lengthy and not worth their time. However, Tottenham still intends to move forward.
