Several Afghan sources claim that the Haqqani Network and the Taliban's General Intelligence Directorate (GID), led by Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq, allegedly assisted Israeli intelligence in transporting drone parts into Iran. The drone components, reportedly disguised as commercial goods, were allegedly moved by operatives of the Taliban's GID and Interior Ministry (led by Sirajuddin Haqqani) from abroad to Kandahar Airport, then to Herat, and finally into Iran via the Islam Qala border crossing. Sources suggest that Taliban GID agents used their influence to bypass Afghan customs inspections. Iranian security forces reportedly did not inspect the containers, allowing the drone parts to reach Israeli agents within Iran. Sirajuddin Haqqani and Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq are known to have close ties with American intelligence agencies and receive funding from the United States and some Arab monarchies.
