📈DeFi Yields: Where Are We Headed?
Here’s why I’ve been thinking about this. A few weeks ago, Uniswap launched an incentive program on Unichain. In just the first two weeks, they distributed 5 million UNI across 12 liquidity pools.
But what are we seeing? Instead of organic liquidity — technical abuse: price manipulation and range gaming. Regular users are left with scraps, and yields drop fast.
This isn’t the playful DeFi of free airdrops anymore, but it’s not a mature, sustainable market yet either. We’re in a transition phase: yields still exist, but you’ll need to use your brain to catch them.
Organic swap fees are too low to attract liquidity without incentives. That’s why the role of communities and builders is growing — those who create software, write strategies, and team up for collective farming.
In the future, we’ll see institutional DeFi: transparent, regulated, low-risk, with similar returns. But we’re not there yet. For now, to earn — you need to outsmart the rest 0 reply
