direct primary care (dpc) is the affordable version of concierge medicine
people pay a monthly membership fee (typically $50-$150) for primary care with their doctor
members get unlimited visits, often same/next day appointments, and the ability to text/email/call their doc
pair that with a high deductible plan (or some do health share plans) to cover the major, unexpected events and most people come out ahead vs a premium plan
this can be especially beneficial for parents w/ young children and people with chronic health conditions where a doctor who knows you / your health history is especially important
