a few interesting trends we’re seeing in abs challenges by batters in the first 7 games if spring training (threading this to keep graphics cleaner)
- batters have the best overturn rates with the bases loaded
- batters also have the best overturn rates in 3 ball and full count counts
these scenarios are the highest leverage situations for batters. an overturned call in a 3 ball count (including full counts) is a walk and potentially the difference between getting on base or striking out
bases loaded is also where overturning a strike call is the most valuable
for now, it looks like batters are winning challenges when it matters most
