going 9 innings, facing the minimum 27 batters on 95 pitches is hard enough. but to then strikeout 15. fucking bonkers.
for context:
- in a good inning, pitchers should throw about 15 pitches
- a strikeout requires at least 3 pitches (15 ks = at least 45 pitches)
- oh, he also hit 104.5 mph and was hitting 103 mph in the 9th
and i really want to emphasize this—it’s his first full year. he’s still raw. he’s still learning. he has an entire career to refine his craft and he’s already doing this.
