🐧Linux keeps growing

Linux has reached a 5.03% market share on desktop and laptop computers in the United States.

This marks a milestone, reflecting accelerated growth: from 1% to 2% in 8 years (up to April 2021), from 2% to 3% in 2 years and 2 months (up to June 2023), from 3% to 4% in 7 months (February 2024), and from 4% to 5% in 1 year and 2 months (July 2025). Adding ChromeOS (2.71%), which is based on Linux, the combined share reaches 7.74% in the US.

Worldwide, Linux holds between 4% and 4.3% of desktop share, macOS (14-16%) and Windows (71-73%), but it dominates servers and supercomputers with over 96%.

All this while Windows loses 13 points of dominance share in 10 years.

Consoles like the Steam Deck with SteamOS and similar have also facilitated this.

It seems Linux keeps growing and does not seem to be going down

search who created android and may you can feel what I am saying and understand why some american apps are by default in your korean mobile 😂

like these bunch of apps that you cannot delete from YOUR expensive phone 

they used to cost $50, now they cost $500 and you barely can say you own it without rooting and installing a new operative system (and less 1% users do that)

the companies behind android, build the smartphones (it is not only google but all your fav devices builders), a very very sinister group what are supposed to be in conflict for the good of the market and the end user, are buiding the most widely distributed device in the history, android, and it comes with tons of backdoors

but the tech leaders will say they are libertarians while allowing massive spy for govs and companies 🤔
