CastDex Closure Announcement – Security Compromise
30B tokens allocated for CastDex project distributions, community engagement, and future funding have been stolen due to a security compromise.
When CastDex was originally deployed by Clanker, the contract’s owner address was unintentionally set to a wallet I had removed from Farcaster nearly a year ago after it was compromised. More recently, the reward recipient address was set to another wallet that has also since been compromised. This was not intentional by myself or by Clanker — it was an unfortunate consequence of deploying on a tight timeline.
When I claimed the 30B tokens, they were automatically sent to the first compromised wallet instead of the second one (which I still control, but can no longer use securely). The first wallet is under constant surveillance by the attacker, and any assets sent to it are immediately drained.
Due to this breach, I believe the responsible course of action is to retire the CastDex project to protect the community from potential losses. While the mini app will remain accessible for market research across chains, daily check-ins will be discontinued. Sponsor funds remain secure and will be returned.
If you hold CastDex tokens, I strongly recommend selling them before the 30B stolen tokens are dumped — otherwise, you may experience significant losses.

I have explored every possible recovery option — including using Webacy and monitoring for nonce manipulation tools — but the stolen funds were transferred out instantly. This is the reality of operating in the unpredictable, high-risk environment of crypto.
I have never engaged in dishonest behavior, and all transactions are open for anyone to review. I am deeply sorry for how this has unfolded. The only thing I would have done differently is double-check Clanker admin settings before integrating another app coin.
