If someone says you should do something some way, that’s cool. they are probably right and they are probably wrong and it’s some third way you didn’t even expect all at once

So! you might as well do it however you think is best - and my bet is on the idea that I think you already know what to do

I truly believe a big reason why people feel unhappy is because they’re always striving to do what they think they’re supposed to, what’s considered “cool”, “right”, or socially expected

You captured that beautifully in the first part

But real happiness comes from doing what you truly want, whether it ends up right or wrong. If it feels real to you, if you believe in it, then that’s the path that leads to joy🌹

Do it your way with knowledge of how it’s been done in the past document how you do it and adopt better practices

Truth is rarely back or white, Everyone has a take, but the answer is somewhere in how you put it all together your own way. 
So basically it’s best to listen to advice, mix it with intuition, shake well, and serve😂 intuition does it best for me though.
