I want this back as well. I do like the Nothing Phone aesthetic - though software is just android. A big fan of that future where it's time to bring back the idea that these things aren't just glossing over technology. In fact, it's packed with amazing technology in a way it's reminding ourselves that these are just sort of magic that these things happen, but there was a lot of processes and things that are inside that are doing different things, and should be a celebration of that. I think in a way.

I wonder if it also has something to do with the zeitgeist. In the 90s and early 00s it was all about technological progress (the hard tech, the device itself), later, with the internet and especially with social media, the device was just an interface and the content (the software) took center stage. Perhaps because it was there where the money was made?
