I don’t find this to be depressing - but more akin to Heraclitus’ fragments, a daily reality that we don’t step in the same river twice

It’s neither a happy or depressing state but more the fact that reality is fire, and how it is in an unchangingly changing state

At least that is how I see it

Yeah, again my interpretation of TS Eliot as he touches on themes of impermanence in the Four Quartets: of Heraclitus, The Bhagavad Gita and other ideas of death and life - and like the Brazilian idea of “Saudade” or “Mono no Aware” in Japan; about how beauty and impermanence are two aside of the same coin

My feeling might come from the first sentence of your quote, poetic, but setting a tone. Also this idea of impermanence, while being unquestionable, doesn't go well with my longing for stability and my desire to be true to others (and expecting the same in return). Truth is out there.
