Something I noticed watching kids: When they make mistakes, they think it’s hilarious. So weird! Well that went wrong. When older humans make mistakes, they are sometimes ashamed, embarrassed or blame others, rarely think it’s funny I hope to laugh more when at my own future mistakes

There's also intrigue, wonder, or curiosity alongside hilarity. Conducive to learning and growth. Whereas adults tend to have lost such innocence; And ignorance, confusion, fear... become the focus instead, which they spread to kids and the cycle of underdevelopment compounds and continues.

Older humans also often lose the sense of awe and wonder kids have, and take things too seriously. I like to remind myself from time to time that's it's all just a big weird game and nothing really matters.

I often think about the kids I admire most on Old Enough. They quietly talk themselves through hard and scary parts of their journeys. They don’t give up because they are their own motivational inner voice.

I am pretty convinced now older humans are just victims of the prevalent educational model. Where we get humiliated for not knowing, or making any kind of mistake.

Just conjecture but maybe, from an evolutionary biology standpoint, kids might benefit more on a relative basis since they're at a 'deficit' of experiences and this attitude is conducive for that?

One time I asked a friend from Singapore if he thought my custom PC tower would be ok if I brought it to the super humid environment of South East Asia bc I watched a YouTube short about PCs and humidity and he retorted that yes they have computers and technology there too.

If you don't learn to laugh at yourself, the universe will laugh at you! Kids embody this wisdom, possibly due to lack of attachment to outcomes... as real play should be. Adults tend to be attached to outcomes, it's serious business.
